Amarissa's personality is best represented by her boisterous laughter, coarse (and often indelicate) prose, and general friendliness to most people. Her accent and diction, coupled with her affinity for the outdoors, easily peg her as a child of Rural La Noscea. Though not often shown outwardly, she is a very emotional person, and her feelings can be easily swayed by things as trivial as a well-delivered sob story, a rousing speech, or a heartstring-tugging tale of romance.Despite her general friendliness, she prefers to keep others at a distance out of caution, born from a lack of self esteem. As such, the roster of people she trusts with her deepest feelings and fears can be counted on a single hand. She may have many friends, though few will ever see anything other than the energetic and irreverent side of her. Even when she fails at hiding her emotions, it is always plain she is trying to, for what she probably believes is the sake of those around her.Her problems with confidence and self-worth lead her to usually preferring the backseat for most things in life. She is almost incapable of making big decisions for herself, and will usually eschew any sort of position of leadership. Praise makes her deeply uncomfortable.
History

Amarissa was born in the rolling hills of rural La Noscea, the third child in a family of six. Her parents owned farmland, and the family business was one of crop and livestock rearing. At a young age, Amarissa discovered she had an aptitude for conjury, and this sparked within her a desire to leave behind what she felt was too humble a life of back-breaking fieldwork. She dreamed of a life of swashbuckling adventure, causing a lot of friction between her and her parents.Those dreams were stoked by her grandfather, a Conjurer and former adventurer. He was also the one who helped her discover her connection to conjury, and taught her what he could before his passing.At the age of fifteen, she left the idyllic countryside and traveled to Gridania to further study conjury in Stillglade Fane. She spent several years as a member of the Guild, and gained a lot of experience as an adventurer. Eventually, differences between her and her mentors caused her to be expelled.Currently, Amarissa has no home, choosing to live life on the road with her trusty Chocobo companion. While she is comfortable enough travelling the world and seeing the sights, a part of her wishes to find somewhere to settle down.

I still 'aven't finished me wanderin' yet." (Rissa tends to roam and can be found in most places well traveled, especially where work can be found for healers)
Quick Facts:-Amarissa adores all kinds of animals, and will often notice a chocobo before its rider.-Despite her years of learning and training, Amarissa is not much of a fighter. In battle, she prefers to hang back in the rear, as her healing spells are potent, but her grasp on attack spells is extremely weak.-Her favorite color is Pink-She will often recite proverbs or maxims, but wildly incorrectly. She attributes her memory of such sayings to her grandfather who, presumably, also recited them wildly incorrectly.-Amarissa is capable of masking her accent, and adopting the accents and mannerisms of other people. Why she chooses to retain the dialect of her homeland rather than something more eloquent is a mystery.

I live in the PST/PDT timezone (west coast US), and am usually available most evenings.I've been RPing for over 15 years, and I have experience in a wide variety of formats. I started my RP journey on forums, irc chats, and imageboard sites, before settling into the world of MMO RP. I've been through many communities, some good, some bad, and experienced everything from the highest highs of creative writing, to the lowest lows of petty interpersonal drama.I am open to almost all kinds of RP. Like most, I prefer to RP in-game, but I am happy to do RP in discord or forums.
